As with all things we can experiment. Personally I would not place my vessel which is to enchant objects ( necklaces, rings, stuffed animal etc) and place on my plate. I might take my object out the vessel and set on a plate. Example: I place necklace in money vessel. Follow instructions for vessel. Then after completing, I might take necklace out and place on a protection plate
