I didn’t think that was necessary with the spelled candles, only the conjure candles. I do thank the spirits of the candle and my ancestors did continue to talk to the candle...is that what you mean?

Girl, if your lighting a spelled candle or not... Once you made contact with the spirit world they are always around you so therefore you always Got to pay respect in some way. It's not a fair weather friend thing that you call on them and pay respects when you want something.. it's a way of life and once you call upon them they are a part of your life therefore you need to pay respects and be respectful all the time not just when you're lighting a candle or doing workings. Just because you get granted through the gate one time don't mean you won't be kicked out and denied another time. So you always gotta keep it respectful.

I was just having a problem with my flame being super small but I soaked up some of my wax with a piece of paper towel and it’s been going strong ever since. However you may wanna read your booklet (the section about flames) it may give you a little insight on what could be going on.
