Can candle work for others when you light it?

I read this two different ways. The first way is yes when you do work on yourself it can effect the ones around you especially if you’re connected to them strongly. And then second, yes it works for others when you use their information & chant with their name and stuff.

I would also write their names, DOB, and current location on some paper and put it under the candle then burn that paper after the candles has burned for 6 hours. Remember not to exceed more than 3 people for each candle burn.
