Ethers are to add to your other majik, protection, intention work or other candles. Just like using a candle warmer for the candles doesn't work for various reasons (there are previous discussions about that, not a new topic), in my opinion, I believe a diffuser with the oil would not work either.
I did a little research on this, and maybe I was too quick in my thoughts...Usually an essential oil diffuser affects the user by the scents - that's how it's intended to focus/refocus the mind. Ethers have no scent, and while it's fine to use without, I would think it would be easier with something to keep a mental focus on what you're manifesting (and a constant reminder). Not just the act of diffusing. So I'm sure you can add essential oils or fragrance oils with it to create that "mental reminder" of your focused intentions (my suggestion would be Frankincense oil, Palo Santo oil, sage, etc.). But again you don't have to add anything, just maintain your focus.
There's no conduit for spirit, so I would think you'd have to remain in a conscious focus or even meditate on your intention(s). It's not like lighting a candle and dismissing. It becomes more of a mental focus on your manifestation, IMO.
Also suggesting if you're using the diffuser, make every step part of your ritual for your intention. Turning the diffuser on/adding water - chant, adding the Ether oil, chant, adding fragrance/essential oil - chant, then chant or petition. If you petition, place it under the diffuser or burn it.
And too it wouldn't hurt to have an altar with your diffuser at the center, complete with a glass of water and any other of the elements you'd offer for spirit. Basically do the same as if it were a candle.
So yeah I do retract my initial thoughts on this 🤷🏽♀️ and agree with the others to give it a try and let us know! 😊
