So I’m looking to remove any spiritual obstacles and open doors in my life. But I’m not sure of what path to take. I feel that the right thing for me to do is create a relationship with Legba but if I buy the Legba candle, is there any reason to get 5th Pentacle of Mercury (which is also supposed to open doors)?

I had the same question andLala told me that Legba could be used in place of 5th Pentacle of Mercury.
I remember seeing somewhere LaLa saying it just depends on your preference. Both are road openers. As others mentioned, I have both & decided use Mercury as a road opener to better opportunities and Papa for spiritual-ancestor access & connection. To help me along my spiritual path.
I think they are similar in nature but not the same. I feel like one (Papa) is to be granted access to work with him or other spirits for assistance whereas 5th Pentacle of Mercury is a road opener clearing the way for your magic. I personally used both because of my line of thinking but whether it’s necessary or not may be a matter of preference.
I actually purchased both, but I used 5th Pentacle of Mercury to remove obstacles and open for. I plan on using Papa Legba's candle when I get ready to speak with Erzulie Freda and with my 4th Pentacle of the Sun and 5th Pentacle of Jupiter...I just feel that his candle would work best for me with those candles...
