Let’s Talk Building Ancestor Altars please.

I dont have the space for a separate altar yet so I set up a little something on top of a bookshelf in my craft room. Instead of a table cloth I used white doilies to sit their plates on. At first I was leaving multiple glasses of water but now have narrowed it down to one which I actually try to refresh every morning. I have yet to put out actual food b/c tbh I dont cook like that. So for my known grandparents I put out snacks they liked . My grandmother loved Wrigleys Spearmint gum and honey buns and apples. My grandfather loved shelled peanuts, coffee and he always wore Old Spice cologne. I havent found the cologne yet so I used deodorant instead🥴. For now I use white tea-lights but have been interested in maybe an ancestor candle. All of this is new to me so I appreciate you guys’ suggestions. Also I just purchased some ancestor oil which I will use on the tea-lights.

I have a bookcase that I have an angel that was on the wall while my mother was in hospice displayed. I place candles, flowers and sometimes my tools on the space. I am still a newbie and have never been formally trained but I have found myself recreating my grandmother's dresser. I have a lot of work to do on my ancestor altar but these are the staples I maintain: A goblet full of water, the angel that represents my mother, photos of my ancestors, trinkets that represent my current intentions, incense and/or sometimes I burn various herbs on a charcoal. As my prosperity work manifests, I intend to purchase items that are prettier to me or that they request😍

Wow I’ve literally been talkin about this I’m making an ancestral board with pictures and names of those without pictures i have plain thick white candles but I planned on dressing them the jars are neat I wish I knew or had any of my ancestors stuff that’s neat
