For the spelled collection (candles with the herbs and glitter), there are many who snuff out a candle when the flame gets enormous, but when they relight it, the flame is low. I know many don’t feel safe with these big flames, but an intense flame is what you want! So, prior to lighting your candle, find a safe space and maybe even place the candle on top of cast iron or in a cauldron/Dutch oven so you can feel safe enough to let it go wild. I open my windows and put a plastic shower cap over the smoke detector to prevent it from going off, so I don’t disturb my neighbors upstairs. But I do stay in the room and monitor the flame. And when I’m done, I do remove the shower cap from the smoke detector. I’m not advising anyone to do anything that would cause a fire nor cause their home to burn down, but intense flames is apart of Hoodoo (which is what the spelled collection is based off of). So, when you feel comfortable enough - create a safe space for your work to do what it needs to do. Because nothing’s more discouraging than snuffing out an amazing flame only to light the next one that doesn’t even want to stay lit.
