Preparing for a ritual, should also be a ritual!

Yes the candles work so you have to your part as well to honor the spirits by presenting them with a clean self and environment. Usually on the morning of or if I have the time the day before is when I start to prepare. I dust, vacuum, remove all dirty laundry and organize ‘clothes chair’ because just cleaning the general area for the candle is not enough. Not even a dirty dish stays in my sink. Make my bed and even remove the waste paper basket from the room. Right before I start I brush my teeth, wash my hair and shower with my Florida Water soap (great to have and use in general, available on Amazon if not at your local Botanica). Whenever I run out of the soap I use the Florida Water that I put in a mist spray bottle to spray myself from head to toe and the entire room as well. When I’m done I sift through my collection of Eriss soufflés and chose the one that pairs closest to the work I’m about to do. I even avoid phone calls and messages especially from persons who have highly negative issues going on in their lives. Sometimes I avoid watching the news too. Everything is cleaned. Candles, crystals, metal plates and the snuffer too. When I’m about to light up I spray my hands again in case I touched something I shouldn’t have. I might sound like a bit much but it’s a whole vibe for me. Not doing this would feel like a disrespect. When I do all this it gives me the feeling that I already have whatever I desire, as if my manifestation is in the present. I’ve seen where sometimes members of the forum family complain that the candles haven’t worked for them. Look in the mirror and look around you because spirits see the whole house not just your altar. I recently gave this advice to someone who kept a messy house and couldn’t get a breakthrough with her candles. She followed and now she’s hauling bags from two jobs and will be moving into her new apartment soon. Said she feels like a better person because she’s cleaned up her act, literally.
