Create an account and manage your settings. Anytime a package comes through FedEx for you (the account owner), you will receive a notification even if you don't have a tracking number.
The same way we can browse websites to buy products, you can do the same on the FedEx website and app to see what features and options are available. You can find out about lost/missing/stolen/damaged packages and file a claim electronically. For free!
There are paid features also.
I have the same tools with UPS and the post office (USPS), where I created an account, and I can track/redirect/hold my packages.
I can even sign electronically, so they don't return to the sender or make me come in for a pickup unless I want to.
Just do it!!!
Here are some screenshots of the texts I receive and the app tracking. I never have to given them a tracking number. It’s updated when the merchant creates one. Then you can compare the order number to the app order or your email notification/confirmation to see which order has been shipped.

Com still says “awaiting shipment” there is no tracking information for your order because fulfillment (the conjure crew) is still preparing your order to be picked-up by FedEx/Shipped to you. It's coming tho, so sit tight.***
