You Don’t Suck at Happiness

For the longest time I have been on a rollercoaster. I’ve had my good days and I’ve had my bad days but there was no consistency. My love relationships were plagued by past trauma that kept manifesting itself over and over. My jobs would start with being excited and successful to feeling drained emotionally and resentful. When I cast spells, they would immediately reverse. For example, I did a honey jar and all my matches on Tinder unmatched me. As a Tarot card reader, with 20 years’ experience, I did not use cleansing and protection rituals properly early in my reading career and most likely had a parasitic spirit attached to me. My soul was screaming for a remedy and Spirit brought me to @Lala Inuti Ahari and her family. The first candle I lit was Unhex. No, no plate broke, no flame went crazy; it WAS hard to light it and keep it lit because the amount of negativity I have accumulated was so vast, that this darkness did not want to go. I removed some wax, chanted and spoke to the candle and it had a steady flame. After Unhex was back, I started to feel naturally optimistic. Instead of looking to reason why something wouldn’t work, I kept asking or simply stating “Why wouldn’t it? What’s stopping it?” I also felt like a LITERAL weight was lifted off my shoulders. The next candle I lit was Halo. It did not make me cry, it did not bring about past trauma. It felt like a slow tide of genuine happiness coming over me; as if I woke up on the right side of the bed and remained in that mood. Next was Healing and I’ll be honest, when she was done, it became super easy to let go of grudges. I didn’t want revenge anymore, I didn’t want to hex my ex’s. It actually TOOK EFFORT to be angry at people who have wronged me in the past. Whilw this was happening, I ordered [@Chaela Bre] ‘s Soul Purge cleanse. When that spell was done, I woke up the next day feeling like I took a breath of fresh air for the first time in my life. Since then I lit the 5th Pentacle of Mercury and had a reading with a powerful and respected Mambo (high priestess in the Haitian Vodou tradition) and she gave me the most amaZing reading ever as I’ve felt spiritually stagnant. Lala’s candles work but all of them are a system. Just like you will get bland rice if you season it with salt only, if you light one candle, you will get what you put into it. Learn, have fun putting the candles together in an order and know that you are working with ancient magick as well as traditions created by the blood, sweat and necessity of ancestors. Especially if you’re not of African descent, treat this as an heirloom that ancestors from a tribe other than your own decided to share with you. And if you are a person of color, take pride that you’re part of this legacy.
